MTN and Huawei Sign MoU to Build Africa's Digital Future

The MTN-Huawei partnership focuses on three pillars: 5G-A Infrastructure: 15K sites with MetaAAU 2.0, solar-hybrid power (35% OPEX savings) AI Services: Swahili AI toolkit for SMEs; telemedicine for 5K clinics Sustainability: 60% green energy base stations; 1M female entrepreneurs trained Validated in Nigeria's trials (95% crop prediction accuracy).

 

During MWC25 Barcelona, MTN Group and Huawei signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strategic cooperation to further consolidate their long-term relationship. The agreement defines a framework for cooperation whereby the two companies will work together to explore advanced connectivity solutions, cloud technologies, and digital infrastructures to drive sustainable digital development in Africa.
